Jayné M. Valverde is a printmaker and multimedia artist from San Antonio, TX. Her creative start came from a strange blend of biological studies and playing music. She creates images and environments that navigate existentialism as well as personal physical analysis. These explorations allow her to experiment with printmaking techniques that push out into a physical space, allowing the viewer to interpret the experience for themselves. Combining sculptural elements and time based media challenges the traditional values of printmaking.
Valverde earned her BFA in Printmaking and New Media from The University of Texas at San Antonio. She is a co-founder of a local new media collective named MOM’s and is an active member of the San Antonio art community. She is also an active freelance illustrator.
